We are so excited to share some excellent news with you!
Thanks to our incredible Hasten partners, a brand-new home for orphans and children in need has just been completed in a jungle region of Nepal.
A few years ago, we met this amazing pastor serving among unreached people deep within this jungle area. And when we say jungle, we genuinely mean it! A protected national forest completely surrounds the community. It’s a home to endangered animals such as the one-horned rhino, Bengal tigers, elephants, and red pandas.
Reaching this area requires driving for hours over rugged jungle roads, where you might unexpectedly encounter wild animals. Tigers, elephants, and rhinos are often seen near or even crossing the road, which can be dangerous, especially for those traveling by motorbike.
The Nepalese government has permitted a small portion of land within this forest where people in need can live. However, life there comes with many challenges. Electricity is not allowed to preserve the forest’s natural state. Hunting or harming any wildlife is strictly forbidden and is a crime punishable by prison. The people live off the land, growing their own food, tending gardens, and raising their own animals to survive.
Earlier this year, Brother Dustan and I had the privilege of visiting this precious community and ministering in their small church. Many of the believers are first-generation Christians, and their testimonies are incredible to hear. The Lord truly is working with them as they are learning to walk out their faith. We heard many stories of how God is moving among them through miracles of healing. It was a beautiful sight!
The pastor who leads this community has been faithfully serving these families and has gained remarkable favor (even from the local mayor) simply by demonstrating the Gospel in action. He’s been persecuted by his own people, and despite everything, he’s remained bold for Jesus. He proves the Gospel by loving those in need, praying for them, driving them (on his motorbike) to the hospital in the middle of the night when they need medical attention, and caring for the abandoned and orphan boys in the area. In a nation where it’s considered closed to the Gospel, he is experiencing favor with the government as he shows love in action. His witness has been so powerful that even local officials are now asking for his help in caring for children and families in need.
Inspired by their pastor’s example, the church family decided to build a home for orphaned boys in their community. They began with what they had, laying the foundation and raising the walls, but soon ran out of funds.
When Dustan and I visited, we saw the structure and asked them about it. They explained that they were waiting for more finances to complete it. We asked what they needed to finish, and to our amazement, it was within our ability to cover fully! Because of the generosity of our partners, we were able to send the funds immediately, without any additional fundraising.
We’ve now received the report that construction is complete. This home will give shelter to about eight children. Praise God!
What a joy to see this dream come to life. The faith and compassion of this local church deeply moved us. Their hearts to care for their orphans reflected exactly what we long to see across this nation and around the world. It’s the Lord’s delight for the Church to shine and care for orphans in their distress.
Now, these children have a safe place to live, to grow, and to discover that they are beloved children of their Heavenly Father. Isn’t the Lord good? Isn’t He faithful? No matter how far we go, God’s heart remains the same. He is a Father, He is love, and He desires that there be no orphans. He longs for every child everywhere to know that he loves them.
We pray that you experience the same joy and pleasure from the Lord that we feel in our hearts. As we care for those in need around us, we are caring for Jesus Himself! He takes it personally, just as He says in Matthew 25.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! It’s a joy to be doing this work on the other side of the world. Heaven records it all and sees it all. As you give as the Lord directs you, you are a part of this. It goes on your record in Heaven. Rejoice! Souls are being rescued and given a home!
